Fever Hack: How to Cool Down Fast

Got a fever? You can usually fight it off at home with rest, hydration, and OTC meds. But if it gets too high, you might need to see a doctor.

Fevers (a.k.a. hyperthermia, pyrexia, or just feeling hot) happen when your body heats up—usually because you are sick, sunburned, or recently got a vaccine.

If your immune system is not at its best, you might get fevers more often. Most of the time, they go away on their own, but a high fever could be serious, so do not ignore it!

Follow these steps on how to break a fever.

Most fevers resolve on their own within a few days. However, IF A FEVER IS SEVERE OR LASTS TOO LONG, SEEK EMERGENCY CARE.
